MY RIVER
By Llandogo Primary School
Short films about war come in many guises and the overall theme of this piece celebrates change in the landscape and in mankind. Using the visual metaphor of the local River Wye and that of the River Somme, young children from a Monmouth primary school remember their relatives who fought in WW1. With original archive from the Imperial War Museum, their poem ‘My River’ reflects their appreciation of what they have today and tells us to “be thankful that nothing stays the same”.
