Stevenage
Borough were set up under the original name, Stevenage F.C.
back in 1976 after Stevenage Athletic folded. A group of enthusiasts
formed the club playing at King George V Playing Fields in
the Chiltern Youth league, which was followed by the move
to intermediate status when they joined the Wallspan Southern
Combination League.
In 1980, they moved into Broadhall Way with Stevenage Borough
council as their landlords and this is how the "Borough"
suffix came to be added to the club's name.
