BBC Radio Suffolk on the Road 2009

The BBC Radio Suffolk promotions team try to get out and cover as much of Suffolk as they can - here's where we're planning to be in 2009. We'd love to hear from you if you can suggest other events.

MAY

9: Otley College Big Day Out - Otley, near Ipswich - 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. Meet Rob Dunger in the morning.

10: South Suffolk Show - Ampton Racecourse -  8.30 am -onwards -  Meet James Hazell from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm.

16: Hadleigh Show - Holbecks Park, Hadleigh. 8.00 am to 6.00 pm. The Mark Murphy Saturday Show will be broadcast live from the show from 9.00 am to 12.00 noon.

27/28: Suffolk Show Trinity Park, Ipswich. BBC Suffolk will broadcast live from the show come along and meet your favourite presenters. Learn how to present a weather bulletin with Julie Reinger from Look East, meet John Walk, have a close encounter with a Dalek and much more at our BBC Experience at stand number 482.

 31: Good Life Festival. Museum of East Anglian Life, Stowmarket. 10.00 am. to 5.00 pm. The Good Life   Festival will show some of the aspects of our society and community that make us happy and contribute to living ‘the good life'

JUNE

28: The Orwell Walk. This event is organised and marshalled by the Rotary Club of Ipswich East and is one of the biggest annual fundraising events in East Anglia.
Come and see Mark Murphy as he walks for Children in Need.


JULY

4: Maverick Festival, Easton Farm Park. Stephen Foster introduces some acts.

5: Ipswich Music Day, Christchurch Park Ipswich from Noon. Stephen Foster is    your host on the BBC Suffolk stage

11: Music on the Green, Martlesham Heath, 10.30 am to 10.30 pm. Stephen Foster will be the compere in the evening.

12: Indian Summer Mela, Christchurch Park, Ipswich. Noon to 6.00 pm. BBC Suffolk will be broadcasting live from this event.

23/24: Lowestoft Seafront Airshow. The biggest free event in the area.

AUGUST

 9: World Crabbing Championships, Walberswick.


NOVEMBER

 4: 11th Ipswich Fireworks display in Christchurch Park, Ipswich. East Anglia's biggest display

 27:  Bury St Edmunds Christmas Market - Angel Hill Bury St Edmunds. Outside broadcast with James Hazell from 9.00 am  to 12.00 noon


DECEMBER

 5:  CiN Carol Concert at Snape Maltings. This concert will be recorded for broadcast on Christmas Day
