What
is it?
RealPlayer is a free application that lets you watch video, and
listen to audio (interviews and so on) over the internet.
How do I get it?
You get the software from the Real Networks web site.
But it can be very confusing to find the FREE version, so we advise
you to follow this guide from the BBC website. Enjoy!!!
Click
here - for the free, easy-to-use download guide from the BBC
And
here's a 'FAQ' (frequently asked questions) guide to help
with any streaming problems concerning services provided by the
BBC
What does it cost?
The bonus is that it is free to download. (However, if you want
more features, technical support and a manual, you must pay for
RealPlayer Plus).
How does it work?
It works on a process called 'streaming'. Just as your television
set shows programmes as it receives them through the aerial, the
player displays programmes as it receives them through the Internet
Why do I want it?
When it's on your computer you will be able to watch and listen
to all the BBC's broadcasts through the Internet.
And not just those. There are hundreds of radio and television stations
all over the world which you can pick up on your computer.
