When someone's diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, the future's a daunting prospect both for the person with the condition, and those around them. David's officially had Alzheimer's for five years but his wife Hazel thinks he's had it for nearer 12. Along with her daughter Louise she cares for him at their home in Halmerend near Newcastle.
