They were released at the Vavuniya Cultural Centre.

Commissioner General of Rehabilitation, Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe said that they hope to release the remaining six thousand LTTE cadres by batches once every two weeks.

Our correspondent Dinasena Ratugamage spoke to some of the released former LTTE cadres.

They told him that they hope to start self-employment with the training they had got from the rehabilitation camps.

Self-employment

"We hope someone will give us a helping hand", they expressed hope.
