Rehabilitated LTTE suspects released
 
LTTE suspects released
Over five hundred suspected members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) released on Saturday have been reunited with their parents.

A total of five hundred and eight LTTE suspects, selected from various detention centres, were released after rehabilitation in various detention camps, reports Correspondent Dinasena Rathuamage from Vavuniya.

The parents and released detainees met at the Pompamadu Camp, Vavuniya where, Minister of Rehabilitation and Prisons, Vijithamuni de Zoysa officiated.

Vocational training

"They have been trained in various vocations such as masonry, carpentry work and even computer technology and are able to start their own business or engage in potential employment ," said Rehabilitation Commissioner, Brigadier Sudantha Ranasinghe.

Among the detainees, there were some who had taken the General Certificate of Education (A/L) examination , Correspondent Dinasena Ratugamage said.
