SLA hands over LTTE bodies

The Sri Lankan army says it's handed over the bodies of thirteen Tamil Tiger rebels to members of the group in the north of
the country.
The military says the rebels were killed in recent clashes in Murugandi, Kilinochchi in the northern region. The bodies were handed over via the International Committee of the Red Cross. There's been no comment yet from the Tamil Tigers. Two women killed Fighting between the two sides for control of the north of the island has intensified in recent months. Meanwhile, Vavuniya police accused the Tamil Tigers of shooting dead two young women on Monday evening. The two women were identified as Muttulingam Devika, 25, who worked in a Colombo private hospital and a worker in Vavuniya branch of Bank of Ceylon, Senthilnathan Sivasankaree, 23. Police have begun investigations. |
