Air Force says jets bombed two LTTE training bases
The Sri Lankan Air Force says it's bombed a training base of the Tamil Tigers' naval wing in the north-east of the island.

An Air Force spokesman said it was thought that the base, in the Mullaitivu district, had been substantially damaged.

"Air Force jet aircraft pounded a LTTE Sea Tiger terrorist training base in the NAYARU area, MULLAITIVU and a Forward Operational Training Base in the WELIOYA area," the Media centre for National Security (MCNS) said in a statement.

There was no information about any casualties and there was no comment from the LTTE.

Fighting between the government and the Tigers has intensified recently since the disintegration of a five-year ceasefire.

More than seventy-thousand people have been killed since the civil war broke out a quarter of a century ago.
