JVP support No-Confidence

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) says it will support the no-confidence motion against the Minister Milinda Moragoda.

JVP MP, Anura Kumara Dissanayaka told Sandesaya that they have decided to support the no-confidence motion as there are serious allegations levelled against the Minister Moragoda.

The Parliamentary COPE committee has revealed that a company belonging to the Minister Milinda Moragoda has defaulted to pay back a loan.

Minister Moragoda is also accused of transactions that had taken place when the privatisation of the Insurance Corporation was done.

Govt reaction

Minister Rajitha Senaratne reacting to the JVP stand said that they are going to win the no-confidence motion without JVP support.

He said there are differences among the UNP MPs and they are still discussing the issue.

“JVP is now saying this but JVP MP Sunil Handunneththi has told weekend newspapers that they are not concerned about it. However, having learnt that the government will not take it for debate they have now taken this stand”, Minister Senaratne added.
