Protest in Vavuniya
People's Liberation Organization of Tamil Eelam (PLOT) supporters held demonstrations for the release of the Vavuniya area leader Sinnathamby Ganeshalingum who has been abducted.

Ganeshalingum was abducted on Monday.

Dinasena Rathugamage reporting from Vavuniya says that protesters who blamed the Tamil Tigers for the abduction insisted that the truce monitors intervene immediately.

Jonni Suninan, representing truce monitors in Vavuniya said “I am not in a position to tell who is behind the abduction”

S. Gnanam Tamil Tiger head of the political division of Vavuniya, denied any involvement in the abduction.

“This has happened in a government controlled area” says Gnanam

The truce monitors assured the demonstrators that they will do everything possible to find out the truth.

“We will be talking to all sectors” said the local chief of truce monitoring, Sunninan
