10 minutes plus 1 hour 20 in the oven
Ingredients
x4 garlic cloves sliced
x1 red onions sliced
x1red cabbage shredded
6 tbsp red wine vinegar (Forum)
8 tbsp dark muscovado sugar
1/2 tsp allspice
25g butter
100g blanched almonds
Heat the oven to 150C/fan 130C/gas 2.
Mix all the ingredients except the butter and almonds together and tip into a baking dish.
Cover tightly with foil or baking parchemnt and bake for 1 hour 20 mins (take the foil off for the last 20 minutes if you would like your cabbage drier).
Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the almonds, toast, stirring until they are tinged with brown. Stir them into the cabbage.
