Should Muslim women be allowed to become spiritual leaders?
The imam, a religious preacher and educator, is the most powerful figure in the Muslim community. Until now, they have always been a man.
The Islamic Association of China has granted licences to female Imams, saying they were answering the wish of the people. So what are the implications for Muslim women in Britain, and will it start a debate to allow them to become spiritual leaders?
