 Nine out of ten sufferers are women
Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (PBC ) is one of the leading causes of liver transplant in the UK and nine out of ten sufferers are women.
Ten years ago Colette Thain who suffers from the disease set up the PBC Foundation, and now she is about to receive an MBE for her services to PBC sufferers.
Colette and Dr Michael Heneghen, PBC specialist at the Liver Unit, Kings College Hospital in London join Jenni to discuss the problems of diagnosis and why GPs need to be made more aware of the disease.
