 Does it reflect attitudes to women?
This weekend the last women's tennis tournament before Wimbledon will get underway at Eastbourne. Traditionally, the women's Wimbledon winner faces just as many questions about her outfit as she does about her tennis.
In 1949 a glimpse of lace knickers worn by "Gorgeous Gussy" Moran, was enough to rock the nation. Eleanor Oldroyd looks back at how the history of the tennis dress reflects attitudes to women.
