In the 70s, shoes designed by Terry de Havilland sold for about £15. Since then they've fetched up to £800 at auction.

Terry de Havilland's relaunch coincides with the apparent resurgence of retro/vintage fashion, as celebrity guests at the Oscar's this year sported vintage Givenchy and Ungaro. Liz Pearson asks whether the authentic vintage shoes hold more value than their current counterparts - even if only sentimentally.

But if you think that flat shoes might be the safe alternative to those glamorous wedges - they too can prove to be problem - in more ways than one.
