First-time film maker Donna Baillie became so fascinated by the Women in Black peace organisation - and their extraordinary, mainly middle-aged, British members - that she decided to follow them and document their trips from London to Palestine.
Formed in 1988 by a group of Jewish Israeli women, the organisation Women in Black now has over 150 groups holding vigils for peace all around the world.
Donna's film follows the London group, affectionately dubbed "Hell's Grannies", as they travel to the West Bank to form a human shield around Palestinian civilians. Women In Black will be shown Saturday 15 March 18:30 at the Phoenix Cinema; Sunday 16 March 20:30 & Wednesday 19 March 16:00 at the Ritzy Cinema, Brixton.
