Nilab Mobarez fled her native Aghanistan in 1989 as the Mujahideen rebels continued their fight against the Soviets. Since then she has made a new life for herself in Paris.

As a surgeon, her skills are desperately needed in Afghanistan. Today, Emma-Jane Kirby follows her progress as Nilab arrives in Kabul.
