Maria Hester Park made her living composing the sort of music performed by Jane Austen heroines.
Hugely popular in the elegant drawing rooms of eighteenth century England, she has fallen into virtual obscurity since her death in 1813. But the musician, Diana Ambache, is doing her best to revive her music.
Henrietta Otley speaks to Diana and to musicologist Sophie Fuller. She discovers that there was more than one Maria Park composing at this time which has lead to some confusion.
