Sandra Steingraber Wednesday 27 March 2002
Did you know that morning sickness was once considered to be a mental illness?

US biologist, Sandra Steingraber talks to Jenni about the historical facts she unearthed about pregnancy while she was pregnant with her first child.
Sandra found that the history of science heavily influences contemporary attitudes to pregnancy and childbirth. She has documented her findings in a book: Having Faith - An Ecologist's Journey to Motherhood.
Having Faith - An Ecologist's Journey to Motherhood by Sandra Steingraber. Published by The Perseus Press, 2001 ISBN 1903985145.
