Why do some women undergo agony just to look more beautiful? As a new survey shows that Britain has become the cosmetic surgery capital of Europe and beauty parlours increasingly offer non-surgical cosmetic treatments, more and more women are nipping, tucking and peeling in the pursuit of eternal youth and a perfect physique.
Journalist Angela Neustatter knows a thing or two about this. She's had an eye-tuck and an acid face peel. But says author Joan Smith, no self-respecting feminist would undergo this sort of treatment.
