Earlier this week the Magistrates Association asked for the legalisation of brothels in Britain.
This time last year in Holland, a new law was introduced which legalised brothels, sex clubs and windows advertising sex, provided the owners had a licence.
Campaigners hoped the ruling would improve the working conditions of the 30,000 women working in the country's sex industry.
Philippa Budgen went to Amsterdam to find out how the prostitutes have adapted to the new regulations.
