The Booker prize winning novelist Arundhati Roy is in court this week in India facing charges of contempt and inciting violence.
After success with her first book, The God of Small Things (Flamingo), Roy became an active campaigner against the Narmada dams that threaten the homes of millions of people.
She explains to Martha why she continues to protest despite the risks of being sent to prison.
