Turning the sax from jazz to classical
Brought up on Sydney's northern beaches, Australian Amy Dickson picked up the saxophone at the age of six when her piano teacher suggested she try another instrument to build diversity. Her first saxophone was 'horrible, with about three notes that worked', but it was enough to get her hooked. Amy has gone on to win international awards, and has turned away from the commonly associated jazz repetoire towards a more unusual classical style.Amy DicksonDisclaimer
