100g butter 100g brown sugar 100g black treacle 100g golden syrup 2 eggs 1tsp cinnamon ½ tsp cloves ½ tsp ground ginger ½ tsp black pepper 600g plain flour 1 tsp baking powder 200g chopped cherries
Melt the butter, sugar, treacle and syrup together, leave to cool slightly, mix in the other ingredients. Roll out into thin biscuits and bake at approx 180 C for about 6 mins until golden and firm.
