Should alcohol be banned for under 15s?
The government is recommending that children under the age of 15 should not be allowed to drink alcohol, and that the parents of 15 - 17 year olds should supervise their children's drinking. Is the advice realistic? What is the legal situation, and what damage does alcohol do to a child? To discusss these issues Jane is joined by Professor Ian Gilmore, Chair of the Alcohol committee, and Teresa Pointing, Clinical Director of In-volve, a national charity that runs a range of drug and alcohol projects for young people. |
