 With the Test Match Series now underway the official picnicking season has undoubtedly begun. For some, a simple sandwich, a piece of cake and a flask will do. For others the picnic basket represents a considerable social challenge. As serious devotees start planning their hamper menus for events such as Glyndebourne and Goodwood, we discuss the phenomenon of competitive picnicking.
