Flying missionary

Listen to the item

When Andy Fothergill got the call from God 12 years ago, it prompted him to give up his job as an engineer and train to be a pilot for the Mission Aviation Fellowship - or MAF, a Christian missionary charity which sends practical aid to African countries.

Andy's decision meant moving to Tanzania, an upheaval not only for him but his wife and their 3 children who were then 10, 7 and 4.  Andy talks about how the move and his new line of work affected family life.
