Mariella Frostrup talks to Doris Lessing. With over 50 works in every conceivable genre, now at 85 years old, Doris Lessing's life and work span much of the 20th century. Her books explore all the major issues of our age: racism, communism, feminism, terrorism in renowned novels such as 'The Golden Notebook' and 'The Grass is Singing' which launched her career in 1952. In this interview, illustrated with readings from her books, we hear about her life and her work, beginning with her new book out this month which is a sequel to the acclaimed futuristic adventure story, 'Mara and Dann'.
