Lukwesa was born in sunnier climes, in Zambia, and then spent a number of years in Zimbabwe before travelling to Sussex to complete her first degree in Geography and European Studies, at the University of Sussex. She also spent a year studying in Switzerland - hence making her fluent in French. She's been working as a BBC Nottingham weather presenter for several years and has been trying to pick up the local lingo. After half an hours intensive coaching from a local language enthusiast, Pete Davies, she's produced a local weather forecast in Nottinghamese.
