Red Nose DayYou are in: North Yorkshire > Red Nose Day > A talent to amuse! ![]() BBC Radio York presenter Adam Tomlinson A talent to amuse!By Tim Dale BBC Radio York has teamed up with Look North to host a very special version of 'Stars in Our Eyes'! Rehearsals are well underway and tickets are now on sale... Find out who's starring and how to get hold of your ticket... Red Nose Day is Friday 13th March, and we're all being urged to 'do something for money'. Nothing is funnier than the staff of BBC Radio York and Look North stepping through that white mist and saying "tonight I'm going to be...". We'd like to say rehearsals are going well, but to be on the safe side let's just say they're going! Let's hope everyone is ready for the big night on Tuesday 10th March. The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites The 'girls' from the newsroom will be recreating their favourite group and are promising some surprises. Sarah Wakefield has an update on rehearsals. "Our first rehearsal passed quite smoothly with no cat fights, tantrums or spilt champagne. We huddled into an aptly coloured pink room, usually reserved for high powered meetings, and warbled away to our chosen backing track. "It was agreed that to successfully imitate our heroes we would have to adopt the band member's character traits. I won't give too much away about our identities on the night, but I can say that news editor Anna Evans has mastered an Irish accent and is thinking about buying a chain of pubs in LA in time for St Patrick's Day. "Sharon Shortle has swapped her netball shorts for Chelsea shorts and stilettos. Jill McKenzie has been trying out the party hot spots in Scarborough and has been snapped falling out of a fish and chip shop after one too many winkles. I've been perusing the aisles for red hair dye and have booked a ferry trip across the Mersey. Our fifth member? The less said about THAT diva the better! So, after a lot of hip jiggling - we're ready for our next rehearsal. We'll keep you posted." Not one to be outdone Dougie Weake has decided to dig out his platforms and join Elly Fiorentini, Julia Booth and Neil Foster in the ultimate 70s tribute. Look North are promising Harry Gration and other members of the Look North team as you've never seen them before. If that isn't enough our very own crooners, Chris Marsden and Andrew Swanson are planning to take to the stage as... well, you'll just have to wait and see! Christa Ackroyd and Paul Hudson have the unenviable task of judging all the 'wonderful' acts. Comic Relief - Stars in Our Eyes is being held at the Grand Opera House in York on Tuesday 10th March. Tickets cost £10 and at least £1 from the sale of each ticket will go to Comic Relief. Please note tickets purchased online may be subject to a booking fee.
