Now the holiday period is upon us and, we hope, some sunny weather is around the corner, it is time for everyone in Breckland with a camera to be thinking about the annual Breckland Photography Competition.

Men, women and children of all ages are encouraged to pick up their camera and try to capture some of the beautiful scenes in Breckland.

As in previous years there are two adult categories: A Breckland photograph, illustrating the uniqueness the district and a sports or arts photograph linking with the Olympic hand-over celebrations at the end of August 2008.

The competition is free to enter. All you need to do is to get entry forms from your local community point, listed below.

The deadline for entries is Friday, 29 August, 2008.

Photographs should be printed on A4 photo-paper and taken to the area centre where they will be judged locally.

The best three in each category will go forward to the final which will be judged during the week beginning 15 September. An exhibition of all the winning pictures will tour the five towns during September and October.
