Sunday PresentersYou are in: Liverpool > BBC Radio Merseyside > Sunday Presenters > Maureen Walsh ![]() Maureen WalshMaureen presents listeners dedications locally and internationally with a mix of music and chat on Sunday mornings from 9am till 11am, Radio Merseyside 95.8FM. Born in Everton, Maureen had ambitions to ‘tread-the-boards’, which she did for a number of years working in pantomime and three years Summer Season at New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion with Jackson Earle. Maureen came into broadcasting almost by accident. She was passing Radio Merseyside and called in to ask if there were any jobs! She quickly became a part-time receptionist. From there she assisted on all sorts of programmes and especially enjoyed ‘Children in Need’ Appeal day. Some highlights over the years have been interviewing idols such as Neil Sedaka, Harry Connick Jnr., Merryl Osmond, Vic Damone, Al Martino, Peter Noone and new up-and-coming star Peter Grant. Maureen started the weekend late show some years ago then handed it over to Billy Maher before retiring from broadcasting. She then entered education for adults, taking qualifications via the NVQ route. After that, she went into part-time work at Archbishop Blanch Girls’ School, finally leaving that to return to broadcasting. Being a member of Soroptimist International, an organisation for professional women who have a desire to make life better for women and children who live in adversity, keeps Maureen very busy.
