Recent
building work at BBC Lincolnshire has unearthed a rare public
information film.
The
grainy images give advice on how to fully enjoy the beaches
on the Lincolnshire coast.
|
The
find, in a drawer, in a cupboard, in a dark, little used room was
totally unexpected and little was known about the film. Our only
clue was a letter found with the tape, a copy of which is reproduced
below:

As
you can see, an unfortunate rip prevents us from seeing exactly
when the film was produced.
Little
is known about the mysterious 'R' who sent the memo, but from the
3 x's that follow, one can only assume that there was more than
a professional relationship between them and the 'Lincolnshire Information
Officer'. Records show that at the time this was a Harvey Harrison
Hughes. Obviously a man of influence.
Extensive
research has revealed that the actor is a Lucius Harlow-Grace. This
seems to be his only performance that has been captured on film.
Sadly his career never took off. Some blame a penchant for one sherry
too many; others, his lack of talent.
It
seems only fitting that we continue to serve the public and pass
on the useful advice contained within the film. So sit back and
prepare to be informed, educated and entertained!
