The acclaimed director was recently in Hull to pick-up an honorary degree from the city’s university. Amazing Grace deals with the life of William Wilberforce and his campaign against the slave trade. The film features a host of stars including Ioan Gruffudd as Wilberforce, Albert Finney and Michael Gambon, Apted has a distinguished career in both drama and documentaries. He directed the award winning series 7-up, following the lives of a group of children into adulthood. His feature film credits include Gorillas in the Mist, Coal Miner's Daughter and the Bond film The World is Not Enough. |
