Walls Paint the walls in a large diamond pattern incorporating shades of blue, purple and green. Pencil out the diagonal lines at evenly spaced intervals. Then stick down low-tack masking tape to mask out the diamonds before painting. |

Breakfast bar Construct a simple bar from MDF and a scaffolding pole. Attach the pole to the floor and ceiling. Cut out two shelves from curved MDF, thread the top shelf and middle shelf through the pole at one end and attach to the wall at the other end. |

Storage Between the fireplace and the light feature build a false wall and put in two floor-to-ceiling cupboards using MDF and fretwork panels for the doors. Paint purple to match the walls. |
