FYI...
Track Record: Producer of Guy Ritchie's crime capers Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch, the California-born Vaughn made his directorial debut in 2004 with critically-acclaimed crime thriller Layer Cake. He's seldom out of the tabloids, although that's thanks to being Mr Claudia Schiffer rather than any wild mockney behaviour.
Go Figure: £9 million - that's how much Vaughn is reputed to have earned for making Lock Stock - his upfront fee was £10,000 but he received a hefty percentage of the film's 'back end'.
UK OK? Vaughn's directing ambitions are probably going to take him to Hollywood at some point. He was set to direct X-Men 3, but dropped out before cameras rolled in August 2005 (watch the video below on making a movie for £1 million, and you won't be surprised by that news).
Yes, Really: He harbours ambitions to go into politics, and has talked about "reshaping" the Conservative Party.
