So our reviewer may have thought that Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle was an "impressively vacuous blockbuster" but he's also guaranteeing that "if you loved the first you'll love this too". The same goes for the DVD release, which is another monolith erected to praise the director that is McG. His ego aside, no one could complain about the technical presentation of the film which will, due to the visual and especially the audio power, have you pinned to your sofa.
Faster Than A Speeding Bullet
The last three words you will hear before being blasted by staggering amounts of information will be, "This is McG". While you can't fault the guy for enthusiasm in himself and his work, it's hard to get interested in what he's saying for long periods of time on his audio commentary. Perhaps realising this, McG uses a telestrator so he can scribble circles and arrows all over the screen to jolt you back to attention. Most of his drawings serve little purpose, so even this tool will be unlikely to revive your interest for long.

The writers' commentary moves like a turtle compared to McG's effort, and is even less enjoyable. The Angel Vision trivia track delivering subtitle-based facts is better, as is the strange mini-featurette in which McG describes the Playboy mansion as looking like a convent. Talking of God...

Idol Worship
As with the first DVD, cast and crew interviews fit in plenty of time to compliment McG, who tends to be centre of any proceedings. Some of these 'making of' featurettes do come with good footage, including effeminate guys dressed up in wigs and fake breasts for the motocross scene, and a look at the insane cars used in the movie. Everything about the extra features is short and flashy, so there's little chance you'll notice the lack of substance on offer.
