Bullock The Boiler
Sandra "No more romantic comedies for me!" Bullock will next star in Prime, a romantic comedy written and directed by Boiler Room (that's a movie, rather than a description of his talent) filmmaker Ben Younger.
Given the chest-thumping manliness of that financial thriller, he's an odd fit for the story of a 22-year-old painter (to-be-cast) who falls for a 37-year-old career woman (guess who). Although, that said, Meryl Streep will co-star as Bullock's therapist.

Diaz's X Factor
Cameron Diaz: centrefold. Not some tawdry revelation from her past. Oh no. Something much worse. She's likely to take the lead in X-Girls, a based-on-fact adventure about three porn mag centrefolds who complete an arduous 300-mile trek usually only attempted by ex-army hardnuts.
Variety dubs it "a female empowerment comedy". Not Uncle High Noon's cup of stewed leaves, but a lot of people liked Charlie's Angels.

Late Night Cruising
Tom Cruise will be burning the midnight oil this weekend, chatting to journalists about his rather-ace-looking action epic The Last Samurai. Thanks to The Cruiser's busy schedule, bleary-eyed US hacks may have to wait until 1am to interview the star, who is hoping for an Oscar nomination for his performance in Ed Zwick's movie. Incidentally, if you haven't seen the trailer toddle over here. It's top.

Potter Peek
The trailer for Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban is
online. Lots of darkness, lots of Alan Rickman, lots more reasons to be interested now Chris Columbus is no longer directing.

Rod Snags Freeman The Last Castle director Rod Lurie is to make Resurrecting The Champ, with Morgan Freeman likely to star. The Last Castle actor will play a homeless man sought out by a sports journalist who believes he was once a famous fighter. They bond, before the truth starts causing problems.

Columbine Harvester
The Columbine Massacre is providing more 'inspiration' for another film, following both Bowling For Columbine and Gus Van Sant's Palme d'Or-winning Elephant.
Producer Robert Salerno, who has just finished Sean Penn-starrer 21 Grams, is developing Winged Creature, a drama about survivor guilt.
"It's kind of a little bit of a Columbine scenario," he whispered in High Noon's shell-like. "It's set in a diner and a bunch of people get shot in the diner. It's not about the people who die but the victims who survive and their lives and what they go through. There's a flashing back constantly to what happened in the diner as you follow five characters lives throughout the process." Pass the popcorn!
