We're putting our chips down on recommending Neil Jordan's heist thriller remake of Bob Le Flambeur, but we'll pull back from staking any further bets on what the DVD will do for you.

A Bit Soft
Presentation of the film is fine, although the image quality is a touch on the soft side. The same could be said for the extra features, which are quite tame given the unusual collection of acting talent on offer. You'd think the making of featurette To Film A Thief would offer some quality interviews, but the snippets on offer play it safe, reducing the likes of a grizzled Nolte to a few seconds here and there.
Let Me Tell You A Story...
Anything worth hearing is saved for Neil Jordan's commentary. The few good anecdotes and thoughts from Jordan on making the film are at the beginning of the track. Later on Neil lapses into the trap of describing plot and character to the point where you would be better off watching the film for yourself. The deleted scenes are worth a cursory glance.
