Presumably Gore Verbinski was busy directing "Pirates of the Caribbean" when this DVD of his surprisingly non-sucking remake of "Ring" was put together. While as low in features as the US DVD, this disc does boast immaculate presentation of the movie.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Picture Bojan Bazelli's atmospheric cinematography transfers to disc with a beautiful green-blue hue. Despite the dominance of this aquamarine effect, the levels of detail and sharpness in the image are stunning.
Sound Sadly, we don't get a DTS mix like the region one version. That said, the Dolby 5.1 effort here is well up for chilling duties, enveloping you with deadly foreboding. When the jumps come, watch out!
SPECIAL FEATURES
Don't Watch This With a title like that, you're guaranteed to investigate. It's a 15-minute 'spin-off' experimental film that has been created from deleted and existing footage from the main feature. It's supposed to enhance and reveal further plot secrets, but sadly doesn't work as effectively as hoped.
Look Here We did, and all that we found was a trailer for "Catch Me if You Can".
