"Ghost World" director Terry Zwigoff previously made a documentary called "Crumb". Add an 's' to the end of that title, and you have an apt description for the level of extra features on this otherwise good DVD.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Picture Technically this DVD is fine, with strong warm colours being the features of a quality transfer that looks great on a projection system, as well as a TV.
Sound A subtle but effective 5.1 sound mix cocoons you into the extraordinary world of writer Dan Clowes, but doesn't lack power for some of the brasher musical moments.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Included on the disc are three short featurettes. They're quite sweet and straightforward, but only scratch the surface of this intriguing movie. There are no cast and crew interviews. Instead, the focus is on Dan Clowes, writer of the "Ghost World" comics.
Mr Clowes' Neighbourhood This three-minute featurette is worth watching before you see the movie, as Clowes guides us around the neighbourhood that inspired him to create the comic. Once you watch the film, you'll see just what a good job Zwigoff has done capturing the mood of Clowes' area.
Dan Clowes in Hollywood With a title like this, you'd imagine perhaps a dazzled Clowes stumbling around Hollywood trying to take all the glitz'n'glamour in. Rather, this two-minute featurette demonstrates just how quickly Clowes can knock up a sketch.
Dan Clowes Talks About "Ghost World" With a running time of six minutes, this is the king ding-a-ling of featurettes on the DVD. Clowes chats about how the characters of Enid and Rebecca hung around his head for a long time before he could find a context to put them in, and on how pleased he was to see them come to life in the movie.
Additional Extra Features Also included on the disc is a photo gallery, TV spots, radio spots, and a trailer.
