The Good Shooting Guide
A really thorough tutorial to almost everything you need to know in order to make a short film, with plenty of demonstration clips. Made by the BBC's Training Department, it does concentrate on documentaries rather than drama, but it's still very useful indeed. You will need Flash to see it.
Video Nation
The filming skills section of the BBC's videodiaries site has some very useful stuff on lighting and camerawork, all illustrated by films made by the public.
The Complete Eejit's Guide to Filmmaking
There's lots of great stuff here, including great guides to
Film and Video Lighting for Low Budgets,
How to Keep Shots Smooth and a recipe for
Fake Blood.
Film Education
A site full of resources for studying and teaching media studies. A bit educational in tone, but has a good set of study guides including one on
storyboards.
Dependent Films - Tools and Utilities.
There's a handy storyboard tool to download here, as well as some blank storyboards you can print out and fill in.
