Khwahish meaning 'the desire' is a story about two college going youngsters, Lehka (Mallika) and Amar (Himanchu) who discover love and beyond.

Their life begins when both fall in love at first sight. This leads to a series of courtship rituals as they gradually experience each others feelings.
As the couple becomes closer, Amar takes the decision to explore the sexual side of their friendship.
But this is strongly rejected by Lekha. She believes that they should marry first before they experience the physical side of their relationship.

To Lekha's surprise Amar spontaneously agrees to her idea.
But this decision is strongly opposed by their respective parents who think their relationship is more of an infatuation than love.
Despite the odds, the couple gets married with a honeymoon in Manila. Amar decides to continue with his MBA degree course.
As for Lekha, she must now sacrifice her dream of studying music in order to financially support Amar with his education.

Amar's studies pays off in the end when he gets a high earning job. As a result, the standard of living for the couple improves tremendously.
All seems well to begin with but the daily mundane life of marriage soon sets into their lives. They decide to have a child which they believe would inject some closeness.
But this in turn brings another set of problems which they find very difficult to deal with. So will their marriage survive the stresses and strains life?
Shot on 52 locations in Pune, Himachal Pradesh and South India with six songs rendered by Asha Bhosle, Khwahish is a film well worth a watch upon its release.
