Cambridgeshire County Show, Sunday 31st May 2009, Wimpole Home FarmThis traditional show has its roots planted firmly in agriculture, the local countryside and the rural community.  It's a fantastic chance to find out more about British food and farming, traditional crafts, livestock and what goes into maintaining the Cambridgeshire countryside. It's also a great day out for all the family and a chance for local young farmers to display their skills, produce, animals and handiwork in competitions and demonstrations.  As well as cows, sheep and other livestock that have all been bathed and groomed to show off their best side, the show includes traditional crafts, food hall, rural crafts and displays, vintage tractors, a fairground, a children's corner and ring events plus much more. The ring events have a varied programme to keep you all entertained. These include sheep dog handling, the Welsh Axemen, terrier racing (please bring your dogs, any breeds, if you would like to!) and a variety of hilarious Young Farmer competitions.  BBC Radio Cambridgeshire's Andie Harper will be there and don't forget to come along and see Breakfast Show presenter (and farmer's boy) Jeremy Sallis driving a tractor; the vintage tractor parade starts at 1.10pm! The show takes place at Wimpole Home Farm (the National Trust property), Wimpole, Arrington, near Royston, SG8 0BW.
