Out and aboutYou are in: Cambridgeshire > Entertainment > Outdoor and Attractions > Out and about > Ho, ho, ho in a hurry? ![]() Ho, ho, ho in a hurry?Get Christmas off to a flying start by joining the Cambridge Santa Run - and raise some vital funds for East Anglia's Children's Hospices! You know what it's like. Not a Santa in sight and then suddenly, six come along at once! Well, if you're in Cambridge on Sunday 16th December, you'll see a lot more than that, when (hopefully) hundreds of Santa-suit-clad fundraisers take to the streets. And they're not just doing it for the fun of it. ![]() Santas on the run The multi-Santas will be raising money for EACH - East Anglia's Children's Hospices. It's the first time such an event has been held in Cambridge. The Grafton Centre is helping by sponsoring the event. Simon Hempsall, who's Marketing Manager at EACH says the money raised will make a great difference to those children in Cambridgeshire who only have a short time to live. Adults are being asked to give a minimum £20 sponsorship and pay £10 to enter. There's a special rate of £5 for under 14s and a free Santa's Little Helper Dash for the under 8s!
And don't worry if you haven't got a Father Christmas suit stashed at home waiting for such a perfect occasion! The entrance and sponsorship money includes a free Santa suit - provided by the Grafton Centre. It's for such a fantastic cause that it's worth throwing those inhibitions to the wind. As Simon Hempsall says, "You won't look daft, you'll just look like everyone else!" The two km run begins at The Grafton Centre in Cambrige at 10.30am onwards finishing at Parker's Piece on Sunday 16th December. Entry forms can be sent to you by calling 01953 715559 or you can enter online at www.each.org.uk The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites last updated: 06/12/07 Have Your SayYou are in: Cambridgeshire > Entertainment > Outdoor and Attractions > Out and about > Ho, ho, ho in a hurry?
