It's a little bit of tractor heaven

There will be big machine loving softies up and down the country shedding a sentimental tear of joy come early November as the National Tractor Show comes to the East of England Showground.

The National Tractor Show - East of England Show Ground, Sat 3rd & Sun 4th November 2007

For the big boys who like big toys, the little kids who dig massive treads and the Fenland farmer who fancies a frolic with machines it will soon be time to head to the East of England Showground.

Some of the biggest names in the business will be trundling down the Cambridgeshire country lanes to park up their heavy duty harvesters for everyone to lay their eyes on.

All tractor enthusiasts should be satisfied as well, with a blend of classic machines and the new-fangled beasts of the present on display.

There will be old work-horses celebrating 75 years of Perkin's engines and more than 70 years of Ransome's MG horticultural crawlers as well as hundreds of veteran, vintage, classic and modern tractors, implements and machinery culminating in the excitement of the National Tractor Championships with no less than 40 classes to be fought over.

Other features to look out for are a Tractorjumble with trade stands, a Harvesting Through the Ages display by Peterborough Preservation Society, a special veteran's display and an auction by R Longstaff and Co.

The show is open from 9am to 5pm on 3rd November and from 9am to 4pm on 4th November. Admission on the gate is £7 adult (£5 concession). In advance, it is £5 for an adult, £3.50 concessions, £15 (family of 2 adults and 2 children aged 5 – 14), available from 01959 543575 (Mon to Fri, 9am to 4pm) or 08454 506425.
