They don't have performing animals anymore - oh no, not on your Nellie the elephant - but they do have a cast of over 50 international artistes. Billy Smart's is Britain's largest circus, so you can expect big fun and even bigger thrills.

This autumn you're promised a dynamic mix of breathtaking acrobatics, comedy, juggling, illusionists and hire wire hold-your-breath-and-keep-your-fingers-crossed aerial feats.

Don't miss Chico Rico, Smart's slapstick Mexican clown, the mighty Timur Yakubov Troupe from Kazakhstan, who apparently do spectacular things with their 7.5ft poles and Romain Cabon, the renowned French trapeze artist.

Ooh - and get this... they've even got a heated big top, so a trip to the circus should warm the cockles of your heart rather than chilling your tootsies to the bone.
