This year anyway. Read organiser Doug's official press release. Lodestar, Britain’s newest indie-rock festival, will not be going ahead this year.It is tremendously unfortunate that LodeStar's inaugural year happened to be 2007 – a year with the worst summer weather in Britain for 200 years. LodeStar, an independent event, offered something unique with a credible line up and purity in its ethos.
As a music lover and wanting to give people an opportunity of enjoying some great artists here at LodeStar I am deeply saddened by this difficult decision (I am really grateful for your emails of support and best wishes, it means a lot to us all here). Regretfully, my teenage ambition to stage a festival on the land my family have farmed has had to be postponed. Despite a tremendous amount of effort in marketing the festival, it was battling against the pictures and reports about the dreadful weather we've been having this year. Ticket sales were fairly low, and totally reflective of the weather up until the end of July. The weather might now turn around, but it's come too late for LodeStar. This year's bill was exciting – from the artists appearing on the Friday to the last act on the Sunday. We are sorry to announce that the festival has been cancelled. Further announcements in relation to refunds for those people who have purchased tickets will be made shortly. last updated: 03/08/07 Have Your SayWhat bands are you excited about seeing at LodeStar?
