Without
the vagaries of the European climate would Vivaldi have composed
the Four Seasons?
Here are the songs and artisits who made up the ‘Top Five’
that featured in the A to Z on Points West:
1. Travis - Why does it always rain on me?
2. Crowded House - (always take the ) weather with you.
3. The Beatles - Here come the sun
4. Ella Fitzgerald - Stormy weather
5. Burt Bacharach - Raindrops keep falling on my head
Personal favourites of mine which did not make the list include:
Joy Division - Atmosphere
R.E.M. -I’ll take the rain
Garbage - I’m only happy when it rains
David Bowie - Wild is the wind
Zowie - Sunshine on a rainy day
Other contenders include:
Pearl Jam - Hail, hail
Bob Dylan - A hard rain’s gonna fall
Finally, one I am definitely not so keen on:
B*witched - Blame it on the weatherman.
